Our Story

A New Chapter

St. Mary’s was originally an Episcopal Church. The Church predated the current building which was finished in 1910 after the congregation was forced to build build a new structure. For over 100 years, St. Mary’s served Tazewell County Virginia. It would combine its resources with two other Episcopal Churches forming a Cluster. Unfortunately, In 2019, St. Mary’s Episcopal Church closed its doors due to a declining congregation. The Church sat empty until The Emergent Catholic Church bought the property on Friday, August 28, 2026. With a deep respect for the history of the Church, the name St. Mary’s was kept.
